What's a Tarot Reading?
Updated: Nov 14
First, you need to know what Tarot is. In a deck of tarot cards there are 22 Majors and 56 Minors and all 78 cards are known as Arcana. The root word for Arcana is “arcane” and it means secret or mystery. So, in one deck we’ve got the greater mysteries and the lesser mysteries. Yet, a deck of Tarot Cards is nothing more than 78 little bits of cardboard with different images, symbols, and characters that show familiar aspects and behaviors of the human condition.
Each card has the balance and polarity of a positive meaning and a negative meaning and that means none of the cards are totally negative or positive. Contrary to popular belief, a tarot reading is not so much about “seeing” into the future as it is about seeing into yourself. The cards have been used as a tool for centuries on the path of spiritual self-actualization or unity consciousness. I see a tarot reading as a snapshot in time. The cards can show you “where you’re at” physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. And, this system doesn’t work by reason or logic. The cards give you clues about what's happening in your life right now. So, it's up to you how you'll use that information and your own intuition. What do you see the cards reflecting back at you? How will you act on this powerful information from the Unseen World of Spirit? How will you use your free will and go forward into the Seen World of reality?
Always keep in mind that the cards are not your fate and their guidance is not set in stone. Every individual has the free will to choose their path in life. Everyone can and does have the ability to create their own destiny. The cards work like a mirror and only reflect back at you who you are today. If you don’t like the outcome the cards are showing you, then it’s probably time for you to choose to change your life in order to get a different outcome, which is absolutely possible.
