Illness/Suffering with Delay in Healing from Addiction

All 3 cards are reversed in today’s spread which indicates that inner work is taking place instead of outer action. The 10 of Swords reversed is usually more positive than when it’s upright showing us that the worst is over and the swords are falling out. On the other hand, it could also be that the worst is yet to come or that things have taken a turn for the worse. There’s been a drastic change, chronic problems, an increase of suffering, or death is near. The Sun reversed represents modified happiness, delayed success. But it can also be failure, depression, gloom, hopelessness, or sickness. Temperance upright is the card of the Angel of Healing, but reversed it’s about going to extremes, being intemperate even addicted and suffering the consequences.

One scenario that occurs to me is that you might have been recently notified of the death of someone close to you, causing unhappiness and emotional suffering that is taking you to extremes today though it might not be apparent to others. Or, perhaps it’s you that’s suffering the effects of ill-health that will eventually be overcome, but today you aren’t taking your medicine or taking too much medicine or are struggling with yourself over indulging in the addiction that caused your illness to begin with. Today looks like it’s going to be a difficult day for you suppressing your usually sunny outlook and being afflicted by extremes inside yourself. However, don’t despair as the Sun will rise again and balance will be restored with a new blend of ideas, emotions and the will to act on them.
